The first and still one of the best works of “Jurassic Park” author Michael Crichton is about to get a mini-series remake.
Benjamin Bratt, Ricky Schroder, Eric McCormack, Andre Braugher, Christa Miller, Daniel Dae Kim, Viola Davis and Ted Whittall are all set to star in the Ridley Scott and Tony Scott produced “The Andromeda Strain” for A&E.
The story follows a team of scientists investigating the crash of a U.S. government satellite in a remote part of Utah. When it touched down, a deadly bacteria it brought with it from the upper atmosphere begins to spread, wiping out a small town with the exception of one old man and one infant. Why did only they survive?
Shooting began July 3rd in Vancouver under the helm of Mikael Salomon (“The Company”). Robert Wise directed a 1971 film adaptation of the work.
