Comedian Andrew Dice Clay (“Blue Jasmine,” “Vinyl”) is in negotiations to play the coveted role of Lorenzo in Bradley Cooper’s “A Star Is Born” remake at Warner Bros. Pictures.
The story follows a singer (Lady Gaga) who falls in love with an aging rocker (Bradley Cooper) who launches her career. As she rises as a big star, his own fades.
The new take, written by Eric Roth, marks her first major theatrical role and his directorial debut.
Clay will portray Gaga’s ‘very Italian’ father in what’s said to be a significant, scene-stealing role that serves as the comic relief. The film will shoot in and around Los Angeles from April 17th.
