Anchorman’s McKay Adopts “The Boys”

“Anchorman” director Adam McKay is apparently in serious talks to direct an adaptation of Garth Ennis’ comic book “The Boys” at Sony Pictures says Collider.

The comic follows the adventures of a CIA squad, known informally as “the boys,” whose job is to keep watch on the proliferation of superheroes and, if necessary, intimidate or eliminate them. Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay penned the script while Neal H. Moritz will produce.

Filmmaker Samuel Bayer (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) said back in April that he wanted to adapt the property, but Sony was keen on McKay. Now it seems things have progressed further.
