There’s been talk of it for years – a rumour here, a hopeful quote from a junket there, but nothing substantial. Until now.
A proposed sequel to “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy” is finally coming together with Will Ferrell having signed on to star again as 1970’s San Diego news anchorman reports ABC News.
Ferrell showed up at Conan O’Brien’s talk show in character as Ron Burgundy on Wednesday and made the announcement on the air: “I want to announce this to all of our friends in the Americas, Spain, Turkey and the U.K. – including England – that as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount pictures and myself … have come to terms on a sequel to ‘Anchorman’. There will be a sequel.”
Ferrell’s co-stars Steve Carell and Paul Rudd will also return to reprise their roles as dim-witted, lamp- loving Brick Tamland and fashionable lead field reporter Brian Fantana. Adam McKay is returning as direct or while he and Ferrell will script the film.
