Cuban actress Ana de Armas (“Knock Knock,” “War Dogs”) has scored a leading role alongside Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista in the upcoming “Blade Runner” sequel at Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures.
Denis Villeneuve is directing the film which is set several decades after the original. Hampton Fancher and Michael Green penned the script for the new film which is keeping its story details under wraps, including the nature of de Armas’ role.
Cynthia Sikes Yorkin, Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove will produce while Ridley Scott will executive produce. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in July ahead of an October 2017 release.
