An Inconvenient Truth To Get A Sequel?

Much of the team behind 2006’s Oscar-winning environmental documentary “An Inconvenient Truth” are forming plans for a sequel.

Producer Lawrence Bender says: “We have had conversations. We’ve met; we’ve discussed. If we are going to make a movie, we want it to have an impact.”

Bendoer says part of the need is that big industry, especially those in fossil-fuels, have changed the dialogue with a misinformation campaign: “They did a really good job of pushing back and confusing people. Some people actually believe global warming doesn’t exist.”

Producer Scott Z. Burns isn’t as convinced of the need for a sequel unless it was a game changer as he “would only support doing a follow-up if we have a really, really amazing way of attacking the issue and reinvigorating it.”

Davis Guggenheim directed the original film which grossed nearly $50 million worldwide.
