Lone Scherfig (“An Education”) is considering directing the organised crime whistleblower tale “Mob Girl” reports Empire Online.
Based on a true story, Jessica Biel is attached to star as mob mistress Arlyn Brickman who grew up around and was seduced by the glamour and flashy world of racketeering. Over three decades she went from a sideline figure to a key element in the various nefarious underworld activities.
However that came at a high personal price including numerous beatings, humiliations, numerous abortions and a brutal rape. Eventually she became an informant and later turned state’s evidence which helped put away crime boss Anthony Scarpati.
Writers are currently being sought to adapt Teresa Carpenter’s biographical book on which the film will be based. A 2011 is already planned.
