New Line is reportedly moving forward with a sequel to last year’s horror feature “Annabelle,” which itself was a spin-off of “The Conjuring”.
Gary Dauberman is returning to write a script for the “Annabelle” follow-up and is so far the only named attached to the project. It’s unclear if the first film’s director John R. Leonetti or cast members like Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton and Alfre Woodard will return.
The story of the first was set in California in 1969 and based around a possessed doll named Annabelle who first appeared on screen in “The Conjuring” as part of a collection of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The film hauled in a stunning $250 million in worldwide gross on a $6.5 million budget.
