Amy Acker Scores Lead In FOX’s “X-Men” Series

“Angel” alum Amy Acker has scored the female lead role in FOX’s untitled “X-Men” series from “Burn Notice” creator Matt Nix and “X-Men” film series director Bryan Singer.

Acker will join Stephen Moyer playing two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

Acker’s Kate Stewart is a woman who struggling with her separation from her husband, Reed (Moyer), and her increasingly challenging teenage children. She soon learns she’s stronger than she thinks.

Also joining the cast are Emma Dumont (“Bunheads”) as the magnetism manipulating mutant Lorna Dane/Polaris, and Percy Hynes White (“Between”) as a regular loner kid named Andy who keeps to himself.

Natalie Alyn Lind, Blair Redford, Jamie Chung and Sean Teale also star. Nix, Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will executive produce.
