“American Horror Story” S6 Titled “The Mist”?

FX has been pretty clear about keeping the details of the sixth season of “American Horror Story” secret, but with the show only a few weeks away it looks like those secrets may have been revealed.

Over the past few months, a series of teaser trailers for the next season have arrived and yet each has had a very different look and tone. At the Television Critics Association panels for the cable network last month, FX CEO John Landgraf said most of the teasers were intentional misdirection and only one of them sported the real theme and setting.

The latest TV listings in both TV Guide and on Rotten Tomatoes appears to have revealed which one as it they’re saying the new season will be called “American Horror Story: The Mist”.

Looking like it was inspired by the Stephen King novella “The Mist” and to a lesser extent John Carpenter’s “The Fog,” one difference might be the setting as set reports indicate it is at least partly set in Colonial times and may tie in to the lost colony of Roanoke.

The new season returns September 14th on FX.
