AMC Dates “Mad,” Talks “Saul,” Teases “Dead”

AMC held its TCA Winter Tour presentation today, kicking off with a first look photo of Gemma Chan as the synth Anita in “Humans”. The show is a U.S. adaptation of Swedish sci-fi series “Real Humans” about a family living with a refurbished yet highly-developed robotic servant.

The big news of the presentation was an April 5th premiere date for the final seven episodes of “Mad Men,” whilst the other key nugget of info was that “Breaking Bad” lead characters Walt (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse (Aaron Paul) will NOT be appearing in the first season of the upcoming spin-off series “Better Call Saul”.

AMC also confirmed it has secured U.S. and Canadian rights to the Susanne Bier-directed BBC drama mini-series “The Night Manager” starring Hugh Laurie and Tom Hiddleston. Based on the David Farr novel, filming begins in the Spring.

They also announced a summer premiere for “Making of the Mob: New York,” an eight-part docudrama that starts in 1905 and spans the next five decades as it traces the original five families that led to the modern American Mafia.

Finally, following the new artwork released earlier this week, AMC also unveiled a new teaser trailer for the second half of the fifth season of “The Walking Dead” which returns February 8th.
