Amazon Tries A Drug Drama With “Zero”

Amazon has picked up the US rights to Cattleya’s new eight-part TV series “Zero Zero Zero” from the creators of the hit 2014 series “Gomorrah”.

The story centers around the power struggle over the cocaine trade by following a shipment of coke from the Americas to Europe. Mexican cartels, the Calabrian mafia and corrupt businessmen all battle each other for power over the drugs.

Andrea Riseborough (“Oblivion”), Dane DeHaan (“Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets”), Gabriel Byrne (“The Usual Suspects”) and Harold Torres (“Sin Nombre”) have all signed on to star in the series based on Roberto Saviano’s novel.

The series has already begun production with “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” director Stefano Sollima helming episodes along with Pablo Trapero (“The Clan”) and Janus Metz (“True Detective”).
