Amazon has landed the global rights to USA Network’s upcoming “Bourne Identity” TV drama series spin-off “Treadstone”.
Aside from an early screening of the pilot last month, the show launches from October 15th on USA within the United States. The ten-episode run wraps in late December/early January and then Amazon will launch the series (most likely all at once) outside of the States on January 10th.
The series explores the origin story and present-day actions of a CIA black ops program known as Operation Treadstone – a covert program that uses behavior-modification protocol to turn recruits into nearly superhuman assassins.
The first season follows sleeper agents across the globe as they’re mysteriously ‘awakened’ to resume their deadly missions. Brian J. Smith, Jeremy Irvine, Tracy Ifeachor, Omar Metwally, Hyo Joo Han, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Emilia Schüle, and Michelle Forbes co-star.
The series is executive produced by “Heroes” creator Tim Kring with Ben Smith, Jeffrey Weiner and Dan Friedk also executive producing.
