Amazon Studios has scored the rights to Brian K. Vaughan’s best-selling graphic novel series “Paper Girls” and has handed out a TV series commitment for the property.
The series follows four young girls who, while out delivering papers on the morning after Halloween in 1988, become unwittingly caught in a conflict between warring factions of time-travellers. This sends them on an adventure through time that will save the world.
As they travel between our present, the past, and the future – they encounter future versions of themselves and now must choose to embrace or reject their fate.
Legendary Television (“Lost In Space,” “Carnival Row”) and Brad Pitt’s company Plan B will produce the series with “Toy Story 4” co-writer Stephany Folsom to pen the adaptation. She and Vaughan will executive produce.
Folsom currently serves as a consulting producer on the anticipated “The Lord of the Rings” series also at Amazon. Vaughan is also attached as executive producer on the FX series adaptation of his celebrated work “Y: The Last Man”.
