Amazon Scores The “Jack Ryan” TV Series

Amazon has reportedly scored the rights to the in the works TV series based on Tom Clancy’s iconic literary and cinematic character Jack Ryan.

Jack Ryan has been featured in eleven Clancy novels and five films so far based on his works. The series, like the most recent film, is expected to be inspired by the whole series as opposed to a direct adaptation like the first four films.

The character is an ex-Marine who briefly worked as an investment banker before being drafted into becoming a CIA analyst and gradually working his way up to becoming the U.S. President.

Platinum Dunes, Paramount TV and Skydance TV are producing the series with “Lost” alum Graham Roland and Carlton Cuse serving as show runners and executive producers.
