“Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino’s acclaimed series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has been renewed for a third season by Amazon.
The show creator prodded executives about a pickup on Saturday night as she collected a Peabody Award for the show. Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke, who attended the ceremony, confirmed the show would get another season.
The 1950s-set dramedy follows an Upper West Side housewife who ventures into standup comedy after her marriage falls apart. The show was initially ordered by the previous regime at Amazon for eighteen episodes spread across two seasons.
An episode count for the third hasn’t been announced as yet but ten is likely. The series also took Golden Globes in January for comedy series and lead comedy actress.
The first season debuted late November last year, the second hits later this year with the third likely sometime in 2019.
