Amazon Plans A Game Streaming Platform?

A new report indicates Amazon is aiming to follow in the footsteps of rivals like Microsoft and Google by creating its own game streaming platform.

The Information says sources close to Amazon have revealed to them the shopping and streaming giant are currently developing their own game streaming service and is in talks with publishers about distributing games on said platform. Though partnerships are being sought, it likely won’t be launching until next year at the earliest.

Should it be true, then Amazon would join the likes of Microsoft’s proposed Project xCloud and Google’s Project Stream, both are in the works and plan on bringing console or PC quality games to mobile platforms and web browsers via streaming.
