Amazon Prime Video is teaming with Studiocanal on the Marie Curie biopic “Radioactive” starring Rosamund Pike (“Gone Girl,” “Jack Reacher”).
Amazon has come onboard as co-financier and will take U.S. and some international rights outside of territories where Studiocanal has direct distribution operations.
The story follows the scientific and romantic passions of Marie and Pierre Curie, and the transformative effects of the discoveries they had throughout the 20th century.
Marjane Satrapi (“Persepolis”) helms the film from a script by Jack Thorne based on the Lauren Redniss’ 2010 graphic novel. Filming has just begun in Budapest and the movie is being produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Paul Webster at Working Title.
