Amazon Prime Video has announced that its dystopian alternate history series “The Man in the High Castle” will end with its fourth season which premieres this Fall.
The final season will be ‘rocked by war and revolution’ as the Resistance transforms into a rebellion, and seemingly the showrunners were notified well ahead of time and so designed the fourth season to serve as a proper conclusion.
Executive producer Isa Dick Hackett, daughter of science fiction novelist Philip K. Dick whose book served as the basis of the series, said in a statement:
“It has been a great privilege to work alongside our extraordinary ‘High Castle’ team, in partnership with David Zucker and Scott Free, to bring my father’s classic novel to life, particularly during this tumultuous period in our real world. I believe fans will be thrilled and satisfied by the epic conclusion we have in store for them.”
Along with “Bosch,” the series was Amazon Prime Video’s first big breakthrough success in the original series space though subsequent seasons has seen both critical and audience interest wane.
