Amazing Spider-Man 3 Pushed To 2017?

Sony Pictures is reportedly considering delaying the third film in “The Amazing Spider-Man” trilogy from June 10th 2016 to sometime in 2017 according to AICN.

Apparently director Marc Webb needs more time to work on the third film which is currently in pre-production. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman apparently completed the screenplay for “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” earlier this year with plans to begin filming before year’s end.

The weak reviews and under performance of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” however have likely made Sony rethink its strategy to rush the film out. “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” is currently sitting at $699.1M globally, $60 million behind the first one and the lowest earner in the history of the franchise thus far.

Rather than relinquish its prime Summer release date, Sony would likely instead move up its “Sinister Six” spin-off film from 2017 and insert it into that Summer 2016 release slot.

None of this is confirmed at this time.
