Based on a novel by lyricist Paolo Limiti, the film shows Anna Maria Quaini’s life as a talented singer who dominated the Italian charts for fifteen years. She then stirred up controversy when she had a child with a married actor, in turn forcing her to withdraw from the public eye in the late 1970s.
Marisa Paredes (“All About My Mother”, “Talk to Her”) is expected to take the lead role as the controversial musician.
Almodovar’s current film, “The Skin I Live In” (or “The Skin That I Inhabit”), is tipped to launch at Cannes in May followed by screenings in September. Several new photos from it are up at Bleeding Cool.
