20th Century Fox has kicked off its “Alien” 40th anniversary shorts series on IGN. The six short films are said to be “terrifying new tales set in the Alien universe”. Timed with the launch, a new red band trailer for the collection has arrived.
Developed by filmmakers selected from 550 submissions, these short films allowed their directors access to the entire “Alien” universe. The shorts will roll out between now and April 26th on IGN and, beginning May 3rd they will be available on the official @AlienAnthology social channels and AlienUniverse.com.
The trailer and launch comes as the film has been making headlines again for a recent drama club stage production by North Bergen High School. The kids went all out on the stage production and several videos taken during one of the performances made their way online where they went viral.
Now, both director Ridley Scott and actress Sigourney Weaver have responded to the works, posting congratulations in messages on letterhead and in video respectively. Check out their takes below along with some clips from the play:
