Alfre Woodard In “Captain America” Confusion

Anthony and Joe Russo’s “Captain America: Civil War” has its big unveiling on Tuesday next week with a Hollywood premiere. In the lead up to that, a leaked list at Newsarama reveals that “Community” actor Jim Rash and acclaimed actress Alfre Woodward are a part of the cast – something not known before this point.

There are no details yet available as to the extent of their roles, but the casting of Woodard has raised eyebrows. As all the Marvel Studios films and TV shows are connected, actors are effectively locked into only playing one role. That’s not the case with Woodard it seems as the actress is also playing Harlem politician Mariah Dillard in the upcoming Marvel Netflix series “Luke Cage”.

In ‘Civil War’, Screen Crush claims Woodard is taking on a very different role – that of the mother of an American killed during the Sokovian battle in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. It has been suggested she may be the one who helps Tony Stark make up his mind early on in the film.
