Alfonso Cuaron’s “Roma” Has Wrapped

Following in the wake of the technically demanding “Gravity” in 2014, Alfonso Cuaron returned to his roots with a new indie feature which began filming late last year for Participant Media.

Cuaron held a press conference today to announce the wrap of the movie, which is titled “Roma” and follows a middle-class Mexico City family in the 1970s. At the same time the film deals with The Corpus Christi Massacre, in which student demonstrators were killed by elite Mexican soldiers.

The project was reportedly shot in 70mm, but Cuaron’s regular cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki wasn’t involved – Cuaron and Galo Olivares taking over as cinematographers.
