Alfonso Cuaron Plans A New Mexican Film

Oscar-winning “Gravity” and “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron is partnering with Participant Media on a new untitled film Cuaron will both write and direct.

The movie chronicles a year in the life of a middle-class family in Mexico City in the early 1970s and marks the filmmaker’s first project in Mexico since 2001’s iconic “Y Tu Mama Tambien”.

Cuaron, Gabriela Rodriguez and Nicolas Celis will produce and shooting is slated to begin this fall in Mexico.
