Earlier this week came word that “Gravity” director Alfonso Cuaron has been linked to potentially return to the “Harry Potter” franchise at the helm of the upcoming spin-off film “Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Today, Schmoes Know claims that Cuaron has also been approached about another project in development at the studio – a prequel to Stanley Kubrick’s film adaptation of the Stephen King horror novel classic “The Shining”.
Titled “The Overlook Hotel,” the site claims that Warners has essentially offered the project to Cuaron and “the ball is in Alfonso’s court”. Former “The Walking Dead” showrunner Glen Mazzara is writing the script.
Laeta Kalogridis (“Avatar,” “Shutter Island”), Bradley Fischer (“Black Swan,” “Zodiac”) and James Vanderbilt (“Zodiac,” “The Amazing Spider-Man”) are already set to produce.
