Dwayne Johnson has confirmed that his “San Andreas” co-star Alexandra Daddario has scored the role of Summer, one of the female leads in the upcoming movie based on the 1990s TV series “Baywatch”.
The announcement comes after reports earlier this month that seven actresses were up for one of the female lead roles. Daddario seemingly beat out Ashley Benson, Nina Dobrev, Shelley Hennig, Bianca Santos, Alexandra Shipp and Denyze Tontz for the part which was played by Nicole Eggert in the original.
Johnson also says the iconic part of C.J. Parker, played by Pamela Anderson in the series, will be announced soon. Here’s his social media post announcing Daddario’s casting:

Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (“Friday the 13th”) penned the most recent draft which is said to offer a tone akin to the “21 Jump Street” films with a blend of action/comedy.
