Producer Avi Arad tells MSN that his Marvel Studios plans to shoot several big budget superhero films in coming years in Australia.
With more than ten films on Marvel’s production slate, it’s unsure which ones he’s referring to although he did confirm that he’s attempting to hire an Australian director for one of the movies.
Who would that be? Speculation right now is that Australian director Alex Proyas (“The Crow,” “I Robot”) was being wooed to direct the film adaptation of “The Silver Surfer”.
The character, who appeared in last month’s “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” was first reported to be getting his own film around the time of that film’s release.
Arad also stated a sequel to “Ghost Rider,” which was shot in Melbourne in 2005, was yet to be planned.
