Aldis Hodge (“What Men Want,” “Hidden Figures”) has joined the cast of Leigh Whannell’s new adaptation of H.G. Wells’ “The Invisible Man” for Blumhouse Productions and Universal Pictures.
Plot details of this version are unknown, but this is the first film in the studio’s shift in strategy following its abandoning its big-budget interconnected ‘Dark Universe’ concept in favor of standalone films with more modest budgets that embrace ‘creative directors with distinctive visions’.
Hodge joins Elisabeth Moss and Storm Reid in the project which begins filming next month in Sydney. Jason Blum and Kylie du Fresne produce the film which opens March 13th next year.
Hodge recently starred in the Sundance Grand Jury Prize-winning film “Clemency,” and can currently be seen in Showtime’s “City on a Hill” series.
