Albert Brooks has signed on to play the villain in Nicolas Winding Refn’s neo-noir chase thriller “Drive” for OddLot Entertainment, Bold Films and Marc Platt Prods. says Deadline.
Ryan Gosling plays a Hollywood stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver for thieves. When a bank heist goes wrong, he ends up on the run with a contract on his head and an ex-con’s girlfriend (Carey Mulligan) in his car.
Brooks will play Bernie Rose, a New York mobster who has moved to L.A. and is not to be messed with. “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston also has a major role.
Hossein Amini penned the adaptation of James Sallis’ novel. Filming begins September 20th.
