Disney’s live-action remake of “Aladdin” has currently pulled in $821 million worldwide, and with that milestone it has officially become the most successful box-office hit of Will Smith’s entire career.
That figure surpasses his previous top hit “Independence Day” which grossed $817 million worldwide. Other major films for Smith have included “Suicide Squad” ($746M), “Hancock” ($624M), “I Am Legend” ($585M) and the “Men in Black” trilogy ($589M, $441M, $624M).
Aladdin has grossed $296.5M domestically and $524.7M internationally far and Smith celebrated the new record with a thank you message to fans on Instagram which says: “To be in this game as long as I’ve been in this game, and to have my biggest movie at this point in my career, I just want to say thank you.”
