“American Horror Story” creator Ryan Murphy has thrown a few callbacks to previous seasons in his loosely interconnected anthology series, and now he’s revealed he’s about to take that idea further.
Speaking at EW’s Popfest on Sunday, he confirmed that he’s planning a crossover season involving both the first season “Murder House” and third season “Coven”:
“There will be characters from ‘Murder House’ and characters from ‘Coven’ together… I’ve [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, ‘I think in this window, if you could fit us in’. So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird.”
He admits the crossover will not be next season which has already been greenlit. The news means plenty of veterans from the previous series could return including Dylan McDermott, Kate Mara, Alexandra Breckenridge, Zachary Quinto, Gabourey Sidibe, Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson.
The series is still in the midst of its sixth season on FX.
