There were a bunch of network TV cancellations last month, but amongst the hardest to accept was the culling of ABC’s “Agent Carter”. No other outlets, streaming or otherwise, have come forth with a plan for another season either.
Even so, the show’s stars are definitely down to reprise their roles should they be asked. Dominic Cooper in particular says he’s determined to return to the role of Howard Stark in some way. Asked by The Evening Standard (via Cinema Blend) if he thinks his and Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter characters can come back, he says:
“Yeah, and I think they will. [Peggy and Howard]’ll come back somehow – whether it’s on that network or another, or whether it’s that show or a different type of show, you’ll see them again somewhere, I have no doubt about it… There’s something inside me that definitely says that character’s not over with. I adore playing him, he’s great fun.”
Atwell meanwhile is leading up the new ABC drama “Conviction,” but appearing at MegaCon in Orlando over the weekend she says she’s more than game to return to the role. An attendee tweeted the following quotes:
“YES 100%. I love Peggy. I love the people working on this project. A privilege and an honor to bring her back to the fans…. I’d shoot on the weekends. Blue serum. Whatever it takes.”
Following the ‘Carter’ cancellation, a petition was launched by fans campaigning for Netflix to pick up the series – a petition that has already managed over 115,000 signatures.
