Affleck’s Batman Solo Film “Good and Going”

There’s been some confusion regarding the Ben Affleck-directed solo “The Batman” film, be it the lack of a concrete proposed start date for production or Affleck’s own comments which suggest he’ll walk if the script isn’t ready – a script he and DC chief Geoff Johns are writing.

This week, out doing promotion for his new film “Live By Night,” Affleck was asked by a FOX5 journalist to direct the new “Batman” film to which he replied that the project is: “good and going” which suggests things are at least progressing. Batman on Film chimes in as well, adding that filming will begin this summer, potentially as early as July.

UPDATE: Affleck went even further in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, saying:

“I’m gonna direct the next Batman, we’re working on it. It’s one of those things that’s really frustrating because with ‘Live By Night’ it took me a year-and-a-half to write it and get it ready and I worked really hard. It’s just no one gave a s–t. No one was like, ‘WHERE’S ‘LIVE BY NIGHT?’ But with Batman I keep getting the, ‘WHERE’S THE F**KING BATMAN?’ I’m like, ‘Whoa, I’m working! Give me a second!’.

Affleck’s “Live By Night” scores a wide release this Friday.
