Affleck, Isaac Set For Netflix’s “Triple Frontier”

Ben Affleck and Oscar Isaac are set to headline the drug thriller formerly known as “Triple Frontier” which J.C. Chandor is directing for Netflix.

Garrett Hedlund, Charlie Hunnam, Pedro Pascal, and Adia Arjona co-star in the film which Mark Boal penned the story for and which is set in the notorious border zone between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil where the Igazu and Parana rivers converge – a haven for organized crime.

Chandor also re-wrote the script based off of drafts by Mark Boal with the new story focusing on five friends who will find their friendship tested when they reunite to take down a South American drug lord. This leads to triggering an unintended chain of events.

The likes of Johnny Depp, Tom Hanks, Will Smith and Mahershala Ali have all been attached at some point while Kathryn Bigelow was slated to direct at one time. Filming kicks off next week with shooting to take place in California, Columbia, and Hawaii.

Affleck has been spotted sporting an elaborate fake back tattoo on a beach this past week for his role in the project, while photos and video of Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam and Garrett Hedlund in board shorts on a beach doing some sort of prep work for the film are up at My New Plaid Pants.
