Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are set to executive produce “City on a Hill,” a new drama series which Showtime has picked up to pilot.
Based on an original idea by Affleck and Chuck MacLean (“Boston Strangler”) with the latter penning the script, the series is set in Boston in the early 1990s when corruption and racism were common.
It was then that an African-American district attorney from Brooklyn arrived in the city. He formed an unlikely alliance with a corrupt yet venerated FBI veteran – and ultimately they change the face of the criminal justice system.
Gavin O’Connor (“Warrior,” “The Accountant”) will helm the pilot and will also serve as executive producer along with “Logan” director James Mangold and “Memento” producer Jennifer Todd.
