Adrien Brody and Sharon Stone are set to replace Sam Rockwell and Kim Catrall respectively on the ’70s set religious comedy “Sweet Baby Jesus” reports The Playlist.
Brody and British singer Pixie Lott will play an expecting hippie couple who arrive in Bethlehem, Maryland to visit the woman’s mother (Stone). There they reveal the pregnancy is not via the boyfriend and the townspeople are convinced they’re about to witness the Second Coming.
Bette Midler remains attached to play the owner of a guesthouse that is putting up the couple. Sean Brosnan has also been cast.
Steve Blair penned the script and Peter Hewitt (“Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey”) directs the $10 million project. Filming kicks off in September in Maryland and Ireland.
