Maker Studios has signed “Dredd” and “The Grey” producer Adi Shankar for a deal in which the multi-channel network will fully finance three digital projects that Shankar will direct over the next two years.
The first project will be an untitled animated project based on an original idea by Shankar that involves superheroes in developing countries. The second and third projects are unspecified and in development for 2016.
Shankar previously helmed short films for a ‘bootleg universe’ he crafted which takes on existing properties from “The Punisher” to “Power Rangers” and will soon see the release of his live-action directorial debut “Gods and Secrets” starring Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Denise Richards and Jane Seymour.
