Adam Brody and Eric Roberts have joined the cast while Demi Moore is set to cameo as feminist activist Gloria Steinem in Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman’s indie drama “Lovelace” at Millennium Films reports Variety.
W. Merritt Johnson and Andy Bellin adapted Eric Danville’s biography about Linda Boreman’s rise to fame as iconic porn star Linda Lovelace of 1972’s “Deep Throat,” and her subsequent transformation into feminist, anti-porn activist Linda Marchiano.
Steinem founded Ms. Magazine, which published the infamous article ‘The Real Linda Lovelace’ about the truth of Linda’s relationship with her abusive pornographer husband Chuck Traynor. She later appeared at the press conference for Lovelace’s first memoir “Ordeal” and penned the introduction for her 1986 book “Out of Bondage”.
Brody will play Linda’s “Deep Throat” co-star and famed porn actor in his own right Harry Reems, Roberts will play a lie detector expert who administered a polygraph test to Linda at the request of her publisher. Shooting is currently under way in Los Angeles.
The trio join an already stacked cast including Amanda Seyfried as Lovelace, Sharon Stone as her mother, Peter Sarsgaard as Traynor, and the likes of Juno Temple, Wes Bentley, Hank Azaria, Bobby Cannavale, Chris Noth, Robert Patrick, Romeo Brown and James Franco in supporting roles.
