UK sitcom “Absolutely Fabulous” is making a comeback with three new 30-minute specials currently in production to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the award-winning comedy series reports The Sydney Morning Herald.
The show ran for three seasons and a special from 1992 to 1996, followed by two more seasons and two more specials from 2001 to 2004.
The new episodes will be set in the present day with self-proclaimed PR guru Eddy Monsoon (Jennifer Saunders) and inebriated magazine editor Patsy Stone (Joanna Lumley) still in their same jobs. Julia Sawalha as Saffy, June Whitfield as Edina’s mother and Jane Horrocks as Bubble are all returning for the episodes which began filming last week.
The three episodes will see one of the characters undergo a life-changing experience, Eddy trying to change the career of a major star, and both Eddy and Patsy play a very special part in the London 2012 Olympics.
