One of the most interesting elements of the current season has been that networks have been cancelling shows without actually cancelling them – effectively dropping and ignoring the shows which leaves the projects (and those involved) in limbo even as many of these shows won’t return.
So far only three shows have really been officially cancelled – “Doubt,” “The Family” and “Time After Time”. Now, Spoiler TV reports that ABC’s freshman dramas “Conviction” and “Notorious” have both been cancelled even though the network hasn’t officially made that announcement yet. The pair have been fully removed from ABC’s press site though.
Both series fared poorly with critics and while neither was a ratings flop, both were decidedly soft performers which made the lack of a ‘back nine’ pickup (and even an initial order episode cut) a good indicator of their fates.
