ABC Cancels Its “Time After Time” Series

ABC has pulled its new time travel drama “Time After Time” from its schedule, and have effectively canceled the series.

A remake of the film of the same name and the Karl Alexander upon which it was based, the story followed fictional versions of H.G. Wells (Freddie Stroma) and Jack the Ripper (Josh Bowman) who’ve come forward in time to the 21st century.

“Time After Time” debuted March 5th to a soft 0.7 rating and an average audience of 2.53 million. In its first four episodes it has averaged a 0.5 in the demo and 2.2 million viewers. Reviews have been decidedly terrible.

‘Time’ marks only the second series of the current TV season to be officially cancelled by a major network, the other being CBS’ “Doubt” which was axed after just two episodes.

Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega serve as executive producers with Siega having directed the pilot, with Williamson writing the teleplay.
