Aaron Tveit (“Les Miserables”) and Edy Ganem (“Devious Maids”) are starring alongside Lou Diamond Phillips and Greg Alan Williams in the Bill Duke-directed legal drama “Created Equal”. Production is underway in New Orleans.
Based on the novel by Roger A. Brown, the story centers on a woman who’s desperate to become a priest in the Catholic Church. She turns to an up-and-coming lawyer who files suit against the Archdiocese of New Orleans for sex discrimination without justifiable cause.
As the trial unfolds, an extremist threatens to kill the woman if she doesn’t back off. Richard Kletter, Michael Ricigliano, Theta Catalon and Joyce Lewis adapted the script while Theta Catalon and Karlas Powell are producing.
