Following a talk show admission, at least two of the stars of the first two “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” films have indicated a third one is seriously in the works at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Alexis Bledel was responsible for the initial slip during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” saying: “we just pitched the third movie.” Her castmate Amber Tamblyn took to Twitter to offer more detail and confirmed a script is done:
“I realize what I’m about to say regarding the third installment of the Sisterhood franchise is not enough to break the Internet, but certainly could crack it. Alexis is right. We’ve been pitching and there is a script. A good one. It’s up to a studio now to make the film. So far, no luck. So keep your fingers crossed, or, knock down their doors with jeans emojis.”
The first film was released in 2005, based on the novel of the same name by Ann Brashares. A follow-up arrived in 2008. The films follow four teenage girls who agree to share a pair of jeans over the course of a Summer as a way to stay together.
