A Secret Second Critters Revival Is Coming

Syfy has reportedly finished production in South Africa on a secret “Critters” movie based on the sci-fi horror comedy franchise that began with director Stephen Herek’s 1986 film.

The original concerned a family who face extraterrestrial furry monsters that lay siege to the family’s farmhouse and are themselves on the run from an alien bounty hunter team. Dee Wallace, Scott Grimes, Billy Zane and M. Emmet Walsh starred.

In addition, Wallace might also star in the new film – the actress did a recent interview with Bionic Buzz and hinted at her involvement. Bobby Miller (“The Cleanse”) helms the project with many of the details still being kept under wraps.

The project is separate to Shudder’s upcoming eight-part series “Critters: A New Binge” from “Zombeavers” trio Al and Jon Kaplin and Jordan Rubin. That series is scheduled to debut on March 21st.
