A “Magic Faraway Tree” Film Planned

The team behind the “Paddington” film series are reportedly developing a film adaptation of Enid Blyton’s 1943 adventure novel “Magic Faraway Tree” which will be produced by Neal Street Productions and StudioCanal.

Simon Farnaby (“Paddington 2”) is attached to pen the script for this first film adaptation of that particular work, the second of four books in the series. Pippa Harris and Nicolas Brown will produce the film.

Each book takes place in the enchanted forest in which the special tree grows; the tree is tall enough to reach the clouds and large enough to contain small houses. Discovered by the books’ child heroes, the tree and forest provide the background to their adventures. Neal Street has licensed all four books.
