A Key Death To Haunt “Batman v Superman”

We know that Ben Affleck’s version of Batman in Zack Snyder’s upcoming “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” will be a world-weary version who has seen much pain and loss in his time.

Now, Badass Digest has revealed some new rumored details about the film, in particular how the key death of a familiar character before the events of the movie take place within the story.

The site says that Affleck’s Batman has been operating in Gotham City for seventeen years and that Commissioner James Gordon has died at some point in the past before ‘Dawn of Justice’. The time allows for a lot of untold stories set within this universe to have already happened and potentially be used down the line.

This death won’t have a big impact on the film as only two scenes take place in Gotham as such, but the site speculates The Joker could have killed the character – a plot point which could be incorporated into future DC Cinematic Universe movies. It also indicates we’ll likely see a memorial plaque to Gordon in the film.

Finally, remember Michael Caine’s monologue about a bandit in “The Dark Knight”? It seems Jeremy Irons’ Alfred Pennyworth offers a similar anecdote in ‘Dawn,’ this one a “long tale about two competing samurai who come to blows while trying to save a village.”

“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” hits cinemas on March 25th 2016.
