A “Jedi” Character Coming To “Force Awakens”

Actor Mike Quinn has confirmed that he will reprise his role from “Return of the Jedi” in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” for Disney and Lucasfilm.

Quinn plays Nien Nunb, the Sullustan who co-piloted the Millennium Falcon with Lando Calrissian in the 1983 capper of the original trilogy. The pair’s mission helped destroy the second Death Star.

Quinn says you can briefly glimpse Nunb in the recent trailer, one of several alien pilots running in the background of the shot featuring Finn looking out at the hustle and bustle of the Resistance’s secret base.

In related news, Variety reports that Canada will be the only territory in the world where “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be available to stream on Netflix next year.

The reason is one of licensing, Netflix picked up the rights to Disney product starting in 2015, but only in Canada as in the U.S. that deal for Disney films is with Starz.
