A Fourth “Fifty Shades” Novel Is Coming

“Fifty Shades of Grey” author EL James has announced that she will release “Grey,” a new version of “Fifty Shades of Grey” written from Christian’s point of view. The book will be published on June 18th, Christian’s birthday, and the work is said to be a response to readers’ requests for a tale told from his perspective.

James says in a posting on social media: “Christian is a complex character, and readers have always been fascinated by his desires and motivations, and his troubled past. Also, as anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows, there are two sides to every story. It’s been a great pleasure to return to my happy place – writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic team at Vintage.”

Such a idea isn’t unheard of. Following her four-book “Twilight” saga, author Stephenie Meyer began penning a new take on the first “Twilight” from the perspective of male lead Edward Cullen. However, the first few chapters of “Midnight Sun” leaked online which led to the book’s cancellation.

The “Fifty Shades” trilogy has sold more than 125 million copies worldwide and spawned this year’s hit film adaptation from Universal Pictures.
