Whilst it took two decades for an official sequel to “Dumb and Dumber” to come to fruition, could a third one come together a lot quicker?
The film premiered on Monday night in Los Angeles where director Peter Farrelly and actor Jeff Daniels both told Variety that they’re up for doing another one. A lot will depend on the box-office success of “Dumb and Dumber To” though.
Farrelly says: “Depending how this does, I could see doing another. I just really enjoy this movie and working with those guys. Yeah, I could see doing it again.”
Daniels adds: “I love the Farrellys, I love Jim [Carrey]. There’s great value in making people laugh 20 years ago and I hope now. And (if) you get to do it again, you get to do it again.”
Much like the recent “22 Jump Street,” the film also includes a post credits sequence making fun of the idea of potential future sequels for the franchise. “Dumb and Dumber To” opens next Friday.
